Our lawful bases for the collection and use of your data

Our lawful basis for collecting or using personal information for service updates or marketing purposes is:

  • Consent — we have permission from you after we gave you all the relevant information. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to object. To be clear, you do have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.

Our lawful basis for collecting or using personal information for legal requirements is:

  • Legal obligation — we have to collect or use your information so we can comply with the law. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to erasure, the right to object and the right to data portability.

Our lawful basis for collecting or using personal information for dealing with queries, complaints or claims is:

  • Legitimate interests — we’re collecting or using your information because it benefits you, our organisation or someone else, without causing an undue risk of harm to anyone. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to portability. Our legitimate interests are:

Responding to enquiries, demo requests and complaints submitted through our website. When someone contacts us, they expect a reply, and we need their contact details and correspondence to provide one. This benefits the person making the enquiry, because they receive the response or demonstration they asked for, and it benefits us as a business by allowing us to answer prospective customers and resolve any concerns. We only use the information the person chooses to give us, we use it solely to handle their enquiry, and we do not use it for marketing unless they have separately opted in. Given the information is limited to business contact details voluntarily provided for this purpose, the impact on the individuals involved is minimal and would be within their reasonable expectations.

For more information on our use of legitimate interests as a lawful basis you can contact us using the contact details set out above.
